Broad Patterned Mother and Daughter

RandyRemington Oct 08, 2007 12:24 AM

Here are some updated pictures taken today of a female ball python I picked up years ago and one of her daughters hatched out on a breeding loan by Dan Garcia this year. I'm not much of a photographer and may get better pictures taken with a different camera later but this is the best one I had with my camera of the two together. This was taken without the flash and for some reason the daughter came out a brighter yellow than she really is.

Mom is back over 3,000 grams and Dan has this 4 month old girl "well started" at 300 grams empty. This mom and her babies never met a rodent they didn’t want to eat.

Here is a truer color picture of just the daughter with a flash (and glare, sorry). About half the clutch came out looking like mom. Dad (Dan's animal) is an interesting guy too.

Really nice, I love the flames and the brown head on the daughter - sweet!

The mom too has an interesting look about her. The daughter is similar, and you can see where the mom may have changed a bit with age, but might have looked even more like the little one when she was young? Please post some belly pics if you have the time, I would love to see them.

Had you ever bred the mother before this year?

Also, what are your breeding plans, have you decided which direction you are taking with them? If you dont mind, I understand if you want to keep it to yourself.

Great job!

I don't mind at all.

I don't know what my chances are of them being compatible but I've lined up a breeding loan for her to either a lesser or a mojave (perhaps both and see what comes out).

They tend to have white bellies but not extraordinarily so.

Here is mom back when she was frankly too fat

And here is the daughter
