Lilac toxic?

Could I use Lilac branches in my cage? Or are they toxic?

Lilac is not toxic. Are you planning to strip the leaves and use the branches for climbing? Or do you want to put branches (leaves intact) in there for climbing/deco/hiding?

If you are planning to do the latter the foliage will wither within 24 hours (or less) even if you have them in water. As for using just branches (no leaves) I would soak them in plain water or Nolvisan, then let them dry thoroughly in the sun. I do this with Butterfly Bush branches b/c they are sturdy and relativley bug free and don't seem to have much of a mold problem in the high humidity.

So there is my input

Hi lele. I will be using them for branches for him to clib on. In my back yard I have a huge wall of lilac bushes so its good to hear there not toxic. I was hoping i could leave the leafs on beacuse I don't realy have any folliage up high. But at least I can use them for branches. What do you use for folliage up higher in your cage? I have a ficus and a hibiscus at the botoom but they got to about halfway.

I don;t have any chams right now I lost three pygmy leaf chams a couple weeks ago and their habitat setup was very diff than for the big species. My little guys were in a 30 gal. terrarium with lots of horizontal runways. I have 3 anoles and a baby house gecko. Going to a show tomorow so who knows what I'll bring home!

From what I understand Ficus and Hibiscus are frequently used.
