new savana pair...

wowee i havnt posted on here in years! anyways, just aquired a pair of young savana monitors, figured id post a pic or two cant really get good pics yet as their still just settling in. only about 6 inches long.

yea actually they have monster apitites. i just havnt visually seen them drinking water yet, and was told they may be slightly dehydrated.

Drinking and/or soaking is a sign of dehydration. Keep the humidity levels up and it will not be a problem.
They may be skinny now, but eventually you could have problems with them being obese!

yeah that's what ive read but they havnt been drinking or soaking, so i assume they just needed to catch up on their diet a bit. i have also read a bit on how savannahs can tend to become obese, and its easy to see how an owner could over-feed them considering how fun it is to watch them eat. when i feed them ive been taking them out of their cage and puting them in a 10-gallon tank with some dusted crickets and letting them go at it.
