albino king...blind??

ni May 22, 2003 11:25 AM

I was recently given an albino kingsnake, by a friend of mine who could no longer keep her. she seems to be having trouble finding the mice when i put them in her cage, and she wont take it from my hand. is there any way she could be going blind?? any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated.

Even blind snakes can find their prey alright, they do it mostly by smell. There must be some other cause. Is the snake eating at all? I personally own a one-eyed snake (no really) who still has an extremely accurate strike.
I usually just pick my king up and 'show' her where the (prekilled) mouse is, but she's just lazy.
