picking up my corn!!!!!!

lister8 Oct 09, 2007 10:40 AM

i have reserved my cornsnake at a local petshop (it is a v. good shop, the animals are well looked after, the cages are clean and the staff are friendly and willing to take back unwanted animalsor give advice) iam really really excited but i was wondering if anyone had any tips for me.

this is my first snake (i have 2 leopard geckos). it is a baby, i have held it at the shop and it is docile and yet inquisative. it is eating two pinkies a week and being kept in a largish plastic faunarium (which i will be keeping it in when it gets home because ive read they are scared of large open spaces)

has anyone got any handling tips? how long should i leave it to setle in before handling it? is floresant orange a recognised morph (because thats what they said it was but i havent heard of it before)? can i give it tap water (i live in a large village?

i think thats all for now thanks alot 4 your help

After feeding, allow the snake 48 hours undisturbed. Otherwise, Handle them for about 15 minutes per day.

A couple of days

Yes-basically an amelanistic animal bred for vivid coloration and heavy white borders on the blotches

>>can i give it tap water (i live in a large village?
Yes
