Five different Arabesques in one litter!

FrankM Oct 09, 2007 01:06 PM

This was a callaboration with Dr.Kirby. My orangasm triple het. female with Bills Arabesque het. anery. poss. het. albino.
Bill your boy proved out! The five arabesque morphs in this litter were, Anerythristic, ghost, hypo, albino and hypo snow.
Bill has decided to name the snow arabesque (Avalanche) so it will be hypo avalanche. Enjoy.......Frank

This is an anery and the hypo avalanche.

FrankM Oct 09, 2007 01:09 PM

Ghost and albino arabesque.

caparu Oct 09, 2007 01:14 PM

What makes that avalanche a hypo? Sorry I've got nothing to compare it with but that's what I'd expect a snow arabesque to look like.

congrats frank and bill! those are some great odds to hit all 5. how many were in the litter total?

TopNotchBoas Oct 09, 2007 03:22 PM

about how you know that the snow arabesque is hypo or not?

It seems to have a very solid arabesque pattern - hypo arabesques tend to have broken patterns from what ive seen. Not always but usually. At first glance the animal seems to have a snow undertone versus a hypo albino one... not sure. You have far more snow experience than I and also have the benefit of seeing the boa in person.

Amazing litter, congrats to the both of you.

mdc Oct 09, 2007 06:56 PM

Congrats guys! That is an awesome litter either way.

Ryan, I can't tell if it is a hypo or not, and wouldn't even venture a guess. But if it is, the undertone you mentioned could be due to the arabesque being a color morph in addition to a pattern morph. Just my thoughts.

Congrats, way to hit the odds. Seeing all those combos in one litter reminds me how much fun this hobby can be. I can't wait to see numbers like that from these triple het projects. I'd like to see more pictures of that possible hypo snow arabesque. Trey Schneller

I am glad the avalanche name finally found a worthy recipient!

Thanks for sharing!

to call it an "avalanche" instead of a "moonglow"? I like it better but I did think it was the first to produce a morph that got to name it. Unless it is a different "Type" of anery/albino used I thought it was common courtesy. Congrats all the same. If that Arab is hypo it did retain its pattern very well.

people doubting if it is hypo look at the ghost it has basically the same pattern.

NCBoas Oct 10, 2007 07:54 PM

Except the Ghost doesn't have a laddertail.. The Anery Arab does though.. Snow or SnowGlow Arab, doesn't matter to me! Major Congrats on a "one off" litter!

Thank you Frank for helping bring this project and the Avalanche to life. I feel very fortunate to work with and learn from you. I am very pleased that we shared this litter with 3 new morphs in it including I believe the first morph to express 4 different traits if indeed the Avalanche is also a hypo as it appears.

I have thought that the red color in Arabesque albinos indicated that anerythristic morphs of the arabesque would be make dramtic anerythristic boa morphs. Although I haven't seen the babies yet, the pictures look very good. I really like the Avalanche (arabesque snow boa) and think that the pattern makes the snow an even better looking animal. I think this means that motley and other pattern morphs will also make excellent snow boas.

Finally I am very pleased to introduce the Avalanche as this has special meaning for me. Thanks everyone for their thoughtfull words and support.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words and support, the Avalanche boa was a project originally brought to light by the late Adam Kirby. I am both thrilled and honored to be able to help KRBS Herps bring the Avalanche project to fruition for Bill and his family.....Frank
