I have this gorgeous 5'7" female. She's incredibly irridecant, has a lot of pink on her stomach and lower sides and is very dark. She doesnt look like any other boa that I know of.
I was wondering if any of you knowledgable people might be a ble to give me some insight as too where in the world her ancestors came from.

Thank you in advance!

It is hard to see the saddles in the pics, but she looks to have a heavy Central American influence. She appears to have a high saddle count and many tail blotches. She may be CA x Colombian. She is a nice boa.

Thank you for posting them, I was having trouble with it.

Is the darker colouring more central american?

There are several markers suggesting strong Central American lineage. Is the belly heavily speckled as well, more so towards the vent ? When you handle do you notice the way it always secures its tail section before venturing forward with it upper body ?Its an arboreal trait thats common with Central American ssp.
Im likeing those bullseye lateral medallions
Any chance of a clear belly shot ?

Nice animal IMO

Come to think of it she always has liked high places.. and she is a bit clingy.
I've got a belly shot of her.. now lets see if I can figure out how to post it.

Cloud Forest region of Costa Rica. Consult Russo's book/website. I have one too. They could be siblings from the looks of yours.

Thanks, Russo's website was really a help. I didnt realize that she was dwarf. How big is yours?
And where did you get yours if you dont mind my asking. I'd really like to get another one.
I dont have much history on my girl, she was abandoned in an appartment and I volunteered to give her a home.

I just took 2 photos trying to capture the orange flanks and belly on my CA female. She's the mother of my '07 Black Gold Dwarf litter. That's where they get a lot of their orange on their sides. I got her in '04. Maybe she was one of those '04 Costa Rican imports Russo mentions. She and her babies change colors like crazy. They love to climb. And they seem to like that moist montaine environment. Get kinda pissy when its too hot or too dry. She's silver/gray anteriorly and she's got that distinctive black tear spot below her eye.
I have some other Costa Ricans. From the photos I've seen on the web and in the literature yours looks like a Cosa Rican and I think mine is too.
Can I get some thoughts on the origin of my CA boa?
