hello, I was just wondering what you guys think is the best substrate for uros? ...i have heard wild bird seed without sunflower seeds is good. Also, I use tile for my beardies does that work well for uros too?
thanks for your time!

There are a bazillion opinions on substrate - all contradictory and many with some merit. There's a TON of information out there, and a TON of arguments for and against each option (soil, sand, millet, tile, etc). There is not one perfect substrate. Your best bet is to search the forum archives on the subject and read until your eyes bleed. Then you can make your own informed choice without just relying on a couple of opinions.

As I've advised for several years on this forum, if you decide to choose millet, FREEZE it first & then freeze it some more. Don't much care for the stuff but like Torey sez, there's a thousand opinions. What's for certain though is if you get a moth infestation you'll be pissed at millet. Every substrate has it's pros & cons. Millet seems an unnatural footing, appears next to indigestable & I just have a problem with the Uros eating the very substrate they poop on. Reckon there's some pros to be said but I don't know any off the cuff.
Whatever choice, best of luck.
Dan.
