Provent -A-Mite

burmaboy Oct 10, 2007 08:27 PM

Ran out of Provent a Mite when I did a preventative follow up spraying. So I stopped at my local reptile emproium only to be told they have not been able to get it. And haven't been able to get it for some time now.
I checked the classifieds here, and saw only one ad for it.
Is this stuff still available? Or has is gone the way of Back Knight?

I spoke with the developer (can't think of his name just yet) in August when I got my Burm, mites and all. Very helpful fellow, Provent-a-mite is in full swing, and we are free of visible mites, but pursuing the follow-up care on a regular basis.

Was it Pro Products?
They're right next door in N.Y., and I'm here in CT.
I can order it directly through them I guess.
There is only one ad on KS for the product, when at one time there were numerous ads for it.

Yes, it was ProProducts and I think Bob is the name of the man I spoke to...owner of the company. Very helpful.

When we were battling mites over a year ago, I did quite a bit of research on Provent-A-Mite and Equate Bedding Spray (Wal-Mart brand). The active ingredients are identical, you can take the can of PAM with you to verify. The price is nicer on the wallet as well. We had to treat over 70 animals at the time, luckily it only took one treatment. The cans at Wal-Mart are smaller, but the price per ounce is a lot less expensive.

Please use the Equate Bedding Spray in the exact same mannor as you would the Provent-A-Mite, making sure the surface is completely dry before returning the animal to its enclosure.

I hope this helps.
