COMMERCIAL DISPATCH (Columbus, Mississippi) 08 October 07 Snakeskin placed by landowner to scare off kids
A snakeskin found Sunday, Oct. 1, in the woods near the Windchase subdivision in New Hope and pictured in the Tuesday, Oct. 2, edition of The Dispatch, turns out to be a warning left by a neighboring landowner.
Steve Pyle, who's son found the 9-foot-long skin, said after checking with Dan Duston, owner of the nearby property, he found the skin was put along the trail to scare off kids who had been riding four wheelers on Duston's land. The skin apparently belonged to Duston's pet snake.
“It turned out, (Duston) had put it out there,” Pyle said. “He had some trouble with people out there on his property.”
