Breeding young males. (Questions)

Carlos_F Oct 10, 2007 10:01 PM

So now I am considering breeding a litle earlier then before but I have a question. Do I still cut eggs at day 57 or do I cut REALLY early like day 54? Any advice, Jas?

You cut at day 50 and sex them and arrange the eggs by alternating gender so that they can start breeding before they are all the way out of the eggs.

I was just saying what I was told, and proved to be sufficient. No need to be an Richard about it.

I was actually being a Richard to JasBalls about his impatience breeding balls and maybe also cutting eggs. I don't cut mine early but know it can be done fine. Ever seen those children's python egg pics from decades ago where almost the entire incubation was with the egg open?

Don't want to start another debate on early breeding but when it can be done safely for the animal it seems like a better thing to me to make more morphs to go around than to not breed animals you don't think will sell for as much as they "should". Doesn't really mater what anyone thinks anyway as high prices will naturally spur increased production regardless of any attempt to control it. Hopefully none of the morphs have yet fallen to the point where many stop bothering to work at reproducing them.

Wait. Cut them at day 57... or just wait til day 60, and use cutting as a last ditch thing if none have come out by then. The babies should be able to make their own slits in the eggs at first, and if they can't...
Well, that sucks.

Anyway, my vote is wait for day 57. The age of the male shouldn't really affect how long the babies take to develop...

Carlos,

What are you thinking?

Don't wait like 50 days.

Cut them now and make an omlette!

I LIKES DA OMLETTES!

Here's what I don't understand. This is a forum. A place people ask questions/for advice and other people answer with the best knowledge they have to offer. Some people may agree, some people disagree. One guy does one thing, another guy does another. That's the point of a forum..... discussion. Why is it that some of you have the urge to attempt to be funny and sarcastic when people do things different than you do? If you don't cut eggs, great! If you cut at 57 awesome! 54 wonderful! I cut at 50 when I'm anxious and can't resist..... and my babies are fine. That doesn't make it wrong. It's just different than others. I don't tell people to do things my way, I just state what I do so the people asking the question have a reference. If you have proof that what I'm doing is wrong, present your argument in a respectable fashion and it might change my procedure, otherwise state what you do and stop being so judgemental. There's only one Satan on this forum and definately no gods. Sorry for venting but they rude sarcasm has grown old.

LOL
Chill! It's not directed at you.
It's directed at an infamously early egg cutter... who will remain nameless... Unless he would like to confess himself.LOL

if you cut them on day 48 they can breed their own mother for the next year by day 56.......?

...really......I seen it in National Geographic.......

...I tried to microwave eggs once so I could cut them on day 22......but it didn't work.......they grew too fast and needed glasses.......but they wouldn't stay on and they kept running into the cage wall.......

I think its OK to cut eggs if you want to see whats in side them or just to make sure they all hatch out fine. But to each his/her own. If your scared and think it's bad to cut early don't do it,for the rest we do it because we can... And mostly we want to see if that Special female or het pied female proved out and gave a pied , It's like opening a Present ;}~........ I missed something !!, i see this was about breeding young males.? But the eariest i've ever cut an egg was day 28 Most of my eggs are pipping at day 55 to 57 Incubated at 89.6 to 90f,. What did i miss .????
