What do you all use for photos

bigdee Oct 10, 2007 10:05 PM

I notice alot of nice pics posted and just wanted to know what camera you all use. I using a nikon coolpix L6, its ok but I might want something else. Also when you post multiple pics does anyone else have to resize the pic to upload to KS. I just tried to upload some pics and came back with an error saying pics are too large but I said forget it because it was too many pic to resize

Check my post right above yours.........I just shot all those pics with my Nikon Coolpix 4500. This camera is about 7 years old now I think.........had it since new and to be honest............it takes better pictures than my pro series Canons for basic internet posting. It is only 4 megapixels and is all you really need unless you are going to get into print/publishing or making very large enlargements. I use some professional 13 & 17+ megapixel cameras for shooting pics for books such as the closing photo of the Latte Balls I took that is in VPI's Ball Python book. . . but they are overkill for posting pics on the net.......the detail just does not show up.

And remember.......it is not the camera, but the photographer that makes a great picture great! If you take the time to learn about the camera and photography you can shoot AMAZING images even with a 1 megapixel camera phone such as this pic I took of a Cuban tree frog in my driveway last month

First the pic has to be hosted online somehwere like imageevent or photobucket. . .

Copy the url and just paste it in the bottom where it says Image url.....simple.

I use a Nikon 7900/7.1Mp. it works real well on macro outdoors.
Inside shots pretty well suck because the flash washs everything out.(no external flash)
As for resizing and posting Photobucket.com is hard to beat.
I prefer the 800X600 size option because it allows for better detail when posting to forums. Its hell on dial-up users but affords some pretty cool pics.
When useing Photobucket you copy the [img] links and paste them directly in your message body. You can also make custom avatars useing the other option when uploading. The entire layout is virtually stupid proof

Depends how serious you are. LOL I use a Nikon D50 with various lenses. Works great so far. But it's not overly cheap.
