Best way to ship monitor across country

tanmuscles Aug 22, 2003 04:08 PM

I've decided to sell one of my boscs. It wouldn't be fair for me to be unable to adequetly (sp) house both of them. I've found a buyer, but he's about 2000 miles away. Of course i'll ship it overnight, but what is the best way to pack it? Also, does the USPS let you ship live animals or will i have to go with UPS or fedex? I hate to have to ship him so far, but at least he'll have a better home. Oh yeah, he's 10 inches long. Thanks a ton guys.

Scott

P.S. Please don't post anything saying "well you shouldn't have bought 2 in the first place, stupid newbie" I simply need the information to ship him, not a lecture.

Hi,

I had a couple of monitors shipped to me from Arizona. They packed them in a regular cardboard box that was lined with foam insulation (the kind you buy in sheets at Home Depot or similar). He had the monitors themselves in those Glad containers with paper towels, and then had that in the box packed with newspaper...I had 2 caudos and a storri shipped like that and it worked great. He sent it overnight UPS and it arrived early and in fine shape.
Hope this helps,
