>>i have had my corn since thursday and it snow saturday. i held it a few times on diff occasions and it seemed to quite enjoy being handled and exploring me. on the way home it was a little frantic but then when i put it in its plasic tank thing it soon calmed down. when i go in there he doesnt run away and hide but just continues what he was doing. the pet shop said to leave it a week before handling but seen as hes settled in so well when should i hold him? should it be after his feed (next thurs) or sooner?

>>thanks for any help
just to make sure it is not stressed wait until it has had a couple of meals, with you, to begin handling it regularily.
It sounds like everything is fine and you shouldn't have problems just make sure it will eat.
After you feed it, try not to handle it too much.
I don't really worry too much about the "48 hour rule" of waiting 48 hours after feeding to handle, I just make sure to handle them gently and for shorter periods of time if it is close to feeding time.
It shouldn't take you very long to figure out when you can handle it and for how long.
After it has eaten and defecated you can handle it longer.
Be careful if you follow the 48 hour rule, though. That third day is the day you are most likely to get pooped on.
