YOU PROBABLY CAN
MY AMAZON SPENDS EQUAL AMOUNT OF TIME IN THE BRANCHES , AS ON THE FLOOR.BUT I`M SURE THEY NEED SOMETHING TO HOLD ONTO JUST SO THEY FEEL SECURE.
BUT THEY`RE SUCH A GREAT SHOW SNAKE . IT SEEMS A SHAME TO PUT THEM IN A RACK WHERE YOU CAN`T SEE THEM
i wasnt planning on buying any yet, i was just wondering if i needed to set up something special or if i could just put them in the same rack as my other stuff.
when i plan on getting a pair ill probably make an aboreal rack

The answer is:
Amazon TREE boas really NEED to climb, bro.
However, they can survive without climbing. But that would be really cruel to do, IMO.
They do spend a lot of time perching, and might spend most of the time perched if you provide them with the right kind of perch.
They also like to stay in platforms.
Even boa constrictors may spend half the time climbing. But for amazons it is a must.
I can't help but agree totally with you my friend....
I've found that if you give ATBs the right branch style, they will rarely (if ever) lie on the cage floor. In his 3 decades of field work with the hortulanus complex, I think Henderson has encountered less than 5 tree boas on the ground.
In my experience, if given large bulky wood they can lay loosely accross (as opposed to the straight narrow perches that Emeralds will gladly coil), they will not go to the cage floor.
