Having just make the move from Upstate New York to Southern Louisiana, I'm excited about being able to keep herps outdoors year-round and am starting research on which species will do well here. I paired down my collection substantially before moving and was down to 3 snakes and some snails.
I just recently bought a hatchling Red-Footed Tortoise who is doing very well in her outdoor habitat.
I'm asking for help with selecting some other species I could keep outdoors in this forum, since I obviously want healthy herps.
I AM AN EXPERIENCED KEEPER of a variety of snakes, lizards, amphibians and turtles.
What I'm looking for are (primarily lizard) species that a) can be housed outdoors in Southern Louisiana and b) that will THRIVE being housed outdoors in Southern Louisiana.
Thanks for your help!
