First Beardie

HBailey Oct 14, 2007 06:17 PM

I got a beardie abot 3 weeks ago and s/he was about 2-3 weeks old and about 3" in length. S/he is now about 6-7". My real concern is I just started offering greens and s/he is now really interested in eating it. So, do I quit offereing crix, or just keep offering both?

Offer both. For a dragon that young, what I suggest is offer crickets at least twice a day (3-4 times till 2-4 months old) with finely chopped greens available all day. You can drop the crickets on the greens to encourage 'accidental' consumption of greens. Eventually they realize the greens are good to.

When she reaches about 4 months of age, she should be eating some greens. If not, you can always give the greens first, then later in the day, insects, though two insect feedings should be still offered at that age (up to about 6 months, then single insect feedings a day are fine..with greens always available).
