Meet Hollywood...

I figured that's a very fitting name for a very gorgeous stud like this:

Alex, I'm in freaking love!!!! This guy is amazing! And huge! THANK YOU!

And also a HUGE thank you to Bruce Delles at Twin City Reptiles -- he was selfless and transported my clown AND both my new racks up here from the show...even driving them all the way out to my house and bringing everything inside for me, then sitting down for half an hour to talk herps with me for a bit at one o'clock in the morning. I offered him compensation for time and gas, but he refused more than half of it and told me I had to take it back or he'd get mad. I am so appreciative of what he did and so thrilled to have my clown finally -- while the past week has really sucked hard, this makes me feel just a tad bit better.

When I read that I was like who the hell is he to say that kind of stuff? I don't think he has a clown that nice. That would have pissed me off and I know it pissed you off. By the way, that is one kick a** looking clown. I'd kill to have that one. Hope everything goes better for you and that your het clown female gets better.

JenHarrison Oct 15, 2007 09:20 PM

I'm not sure if he meant it that way, but that's how I read it. It isn't my fault my 2 animals got sick -- I've kept these snakes for 3 years and this is the first illness I've ever had to deal with. If it was my husbandry, I'd think they would have gotten sick long ago. I treated her with Tylan, then Baytril, and she still died -- so obviously she wasn't going to get better or it would have responded to one of those. The het clown is doing MUCH better -- I don't hear any wheezing at all any more and she looks bright and alert. Still completing the Cipro treatment just to make sure we kill all of it. I hate seeing her sick. Thanks for the compliments! This clown is making me drool...it's almost surreal, I can't believe I have him. :D

I am glad to hear things worked out for you Jen. Good things happen to good people. I am a firm believer in Karma, but sometimes it just needs a little kick in the ass from people like Bruce to get things moving. Nice clown!

Bruce Delles of Twin Cities Reptiles and Lynn Kubic Boas and Balls where both very helpful to me recently in a shipping matter for a special project. It's extra special considering how busy these people are and still go out of their way to help.

Jen:

Congratulations. Your new male clown looks fantastic.

I just read an article about Bruce in Reptiles Magazine. He seems like a great guy.

Good luck with him and thanks for sharing.

Great looking clown! He does look pretty big. What does he weigh? By the way I have a Hollywood too, but she's an 06 spider

JenHarrison Oct 16, 2007 12:17 AM

He's an '06 at 620g. He's not super chubby so I think he'll be more than able to put on another 1-200g by December, which is when I plan to start pairing. He already has been producing sperm plugs so he's ready to go -- I'll just give him some time since I want his het girlfriend to be 100% healthy and a bit bigger anyway.

And my '06 spider male is Dash -- because he's a repeat offender in the runaway/escape artist category. :D

Hollywood, can I have an autograph??? LoL, VERY appropriate name, for him. I like it He is quite the stunner!! Congrats! I quite envy you.

And Dash is a good one too! Haha!!

(P.S. glad to know I'm not the only cornball who names their beloved snakes!!)

(P.S.S. I am sorry for your losses. I'm glad things are looking up!)

I do a lot better remembering names than ID numbers. Plus names make them more personal. Like I told Bruce, the day I run out of names will be the day I realize I have too many and it isn't just a hobby anymore. I don't ever want to give them numbers (except for available offspring).

-- They are way more to me than just B12345 and a breeding project. I'll be corny to the end for all I care! I admire the sentiment you put into your snakes as well

It took me a while to get the right name for my new 05 female pastel. I named her Bindi. Besides the fact that thats the name of Steve Irwins daughter, Bindi means "Beautiful Serpent" as well as "Little Rain Drop." It suits her well, she is a beauty, and shes a reGular little water bug!! Always curled up in her bowl and sloshed the water all in her rack!! LoL
