HELP! Baby Jacksons Chameleon!

ColdBloodedCutie Oct 15, 2007 08:32 AM

I just recently bought a baby Jacksons Chameleon, He seems to be doing fine, I've seen him drink, and I've seen him eat a couple crickets, I've only had him to days but feeding him is becoming really hard. He's so tiny and his cage is really big and it takes him forever to eat a cricket. I hate leaving the crickets in the cage because I'm scared they will hurt my chameleon. His temps are fine. What should I do?

1) Pet owners should always have a reserve fund.
2) All it takes is a rubbermaid bin.

You can build your own with the parts you get to build screens ( and some metal screws and tiny hinges) at lowes or home depot. and do it rather cheaply. you may also want to try the larger fruitfly species (D. heidii.) and/or freshly hatched silkworms to give it more variety in food which jackson's seem to need as they get bored quickly with the same type of prey item. Baby grasshoppers and leafhoppers work well also assuming you can still find where you live this time of the year. Baby Jackson's are tough...good luck

Yeah, thanks. He's been eating fine lately, he just wants his food set directly in front of him. I want to thank you guys for the good ideas, and to tell you others that you are rude and you suck.
