Boy i am going to get a lot of people yelling at me after they read this post. As most of you know i have a 1.1 maliensis and 1.3 geyri. Since they all get along fine even the males i keep them together in a HUGE tank. I have never had a male attack a male in 3 months. Even during the breeding season when they are at their worste they all got along fine. I know none of my uros is submisuve and loosing weight, infact my smallest female in that cage actually gained 20 grams within 2 months, and i weigh them daily. In my tank there really is not a dominant or submissive animal. They all eat, sleep, and bask together. Even the males get along. I have never witnessed an animal bit another one except when my mali male mated with my mali female. They also only mate with their own species in my cage. The saharan male only chases saharan females. The mali male only chases my mali female. So I dont think i will get any hybrids. But if you want to keep yur mali and saharan together i think that is fine. If they breed that is great. It is like with dogs. Some people say why the heck would you want a mutt. Others say a mutt is the best type of dog you can find. Everyone has a different opinion about this so i say do whatever you want. Also, some people say, "well in the wild they would never cross breed because they come from different areas." Well this isn't the wild now is it. My opinion is do what you want. If you want to house a mali with a geyri go right ahead, there is really no reason why you shouldn't.

Good job, you are probably the first person in the world to hatch that type of hybrid. Can you post a pic or tell us what colors they are. I would take one but i just dont have any room. What are you going to name your new subspecies. You can combine Geyri and Maliensis to get U. Geyriensis?? And for the common name you can call them Black Saharans. You can have a lot of choosing out what you are going to name them. Tell us what you are going to name the subspecies.
