Found a small hognose and would like to keep it but not sure what to feed. Tryed a frozen pinky but no go. Can any one help? I also have corn snake so I know a little about snakes. Thanks Dean

Which species?

Try small toads or tree frogs for eastern and southern. I found anoles work best for westerns. Once you figure out what it will eat, then try scenting the pinkie with that item. Good luck.

Ummm...hate to be the barer of bad news....but it's illegal to keep eastern hognoses in PA. There's a 0 take limit and 0 possession limit on them. If you check the PA Fish and Boat site, under reptiles, it's all spelled out there. http://www.fish.state.pa.us/fishpub/summary/repamp.html
Don't think Fish and Boat is going to knock down your door for one little hognose, but just thought you should know.
