I saw two at the last show in Houston, at the start of the show one was $800 and the other was $300. Was not what I was "looking for" and did not pay attention to genders, but did note the price.

Sorry I know that is not much help

I have seen them for $300 to $400 as babies.

You mentioned Applegate and hypo pyros. Applegates are different then hypos. I have not seen "hypo applegates" ...yet. Applegates have practically no black past the head and neck, where hypos have a normal amount of what should be black, only it is expressed as a brown or grey color.

well that sux... i was traded her by a very reputable breeder, so i don't really think he was trying to dupe me... maybe he was misinformed. i was just going by what i was told it was, and i thank you very much for clarification. if i do decide to sell her i want to be upfront and honest, and not misrepresent.

Likely the breeder was not trying to rip you off. Applegate pyros are viewed as a form of hypomelanism by some because the amount of black pattern is greatly reduced and it is a simple recessive inheritable trait.

There are also two other forms of hypo pyro on the market, the Bartzyc(sp?) hypo and the Sentz hypo. Both of those forms have normal black pattern but the tone of the black is diluted resulting in grayish or brownish bands.

I was always curious if the two real hypos compatable or different genes?
