New Scam

I received a phone call that on the caller ID said verizon, A operater came on and said she had a relay call. I asked what that was she said the call was being made from a person on the computer and she was going to read what the person was saying and type back my response. The person asked about the puppy I had for sale, I told the lady I had no puppy and asked her where this person was calling from, the next response was that they were interested in the kitten I had for sale again no kitten, asked again where they were calling from, then they asked if I could please email them the info on the snakes I had for sale, I asked for the third time where they were calling from, next thing I know a supervisor got on and said that they believed that the call was a fraud and would I like to report it so they could investigate it. I said go ahead. It was a bit creepy that the got my number.Any one ever had this one befor.

I had a friend prank me with that before, but that's my only experience with it. It is really creepy, I have to agree!

Haven't had the scam, but I did apply for that job at Verizon. The relay operator has to relay everything word for word and cannot interject anything whatsoever -- it's against FCC rules. Even if the callers are discussing a crime like a rape, murder, kidnapping, or a plot against the President. The relay operator can't report any of it or get involved at all. I'm surprised they got involved with a fraudulent call -- we were told specifically that we cannot report ANYTHING.
