A dude in Austin hatched it years ago and lost it. Worse I think he had no idea what breeders were used to produce, that or he disposed of the breeders before the eggs hatched. I was very familiar with the story because I knew the guy and he was geographically close to me - but it was too painful to keep in the fresh part of my brain. I've posted a photo of it in the past, someone will repost or I will dig it up. I did not own the photo, it was a copy.

I had the honor of photographing that ill-fated albino thayeri for its owner.

Here is the link to one of the photos of it along with a brief write-up about it in the Jan. 1994 issue of Captive Breeding Magazine (now defunct).

I'll have to have the roomy post a pic when he gets back home tomorrow, but we have an almost black '06 thayeri. She has a very faint pattern. We did get 2 more this year, but the little stinkers are being difficult to get eating. Amazing, since the parents are the normal grey with the red in the saddles.

gotta admit i think that one's the niceer looking of the two but the patterned amel above would be just as stunning to see hatch out....fascinating species.
