Baby Leopard Gecko Heating/Lighting

leopardgeckofan1 Oct 16, 2007 05:01 PM

right now i have a baby leopard gecko who is in a 10 gallon tank. im using a red 60 watt light bulb as the heating source. is that okay? im sure im leopard gecko knows when its day and night because at 7am i turn his red 60 watt light bulb on and open the blinds in my room so the sun will make the room brighter. in the night around 10 i turn off the red 60 watt light bulb, close the blinds and close my door. at night the temperature is 75 degrees. during the day the temperature is 86 almost reaching 88 degrees. am i doing a good job?

thats a very good job,
just make sure the gecko has a option to go from hot to cool tempratures or the gecko may get stressed. You want to setup a temperature gradient which ranges from a scale of mid 70's to high 80's so the gecko could choose a spot to it's liking.
