What exactly are the laws against catching wild.. In it helps the answer im in GA..
From what I understand it's legal to keep native venomous snakes and everything else native includung garter snakes, corn snakes and even green anoles is illegal. When I used to be a vendor at reptile shows I used to get paper work for the Atlanta show and it included a copy of Georgia's wildlife laws and their fish and game dept. bragged about how they had the most "progessive" wild life laws in the country. I seem to remember that Georgia's Jimmy Carter once described Romania's former (dead) leader Ceausescu as a "progressive" leader. Considering that Ceausescu was killed by his own people because he was a tyrranical monster, it is apparent to me my idea of "progressive" is much different than that of government officials in Georgia. I will not say that all people in Georgia are idiots Neal boortz lives there, you live there and I have met other intelligent people from Georgia, but there seems to be a lot idiots involved in your state's govt...at least a few idiots than are involved in the rest of our govt.
It is illegal to keep any native reptiles save for venomous. I'm sure the thinking behind this law is the Rattlesnake Roundup which would require the capture or hunting or carrying in some way of venomous reptiles.
My family is from Georgia and my mom just recently moved back to her VERY small hometown. We laugh at some of the laws around there. They have a seat belt law but it's exempt if you are in a pick-up, things like that. Many of them surround their hunting culture but it sounds funny when you hear them. Here in Central FL, you surely couldn't ride around with shotguns in your vehicle in a gun rack, etc.
Thanks for the info..
So besides that.. I can get any kind like besides native species they have no bans on certain things..?
You would have to check with the fish and game guys in your state. But from what I remember most non-native,non-venomous(and native venomous) is ok but there were some odd things that were banned like sugar gliders and hedgehogs and such, not reptiles but kind of dumb if you ask me. You might want to check the website of the guys who do the Atlanta show as I think they have the regs. on their website and may have the proper links to your f&g department.
