Finally, my first Vaillanti eggs are coming. I plan to incubate them at 73, is that right? Thanks.

Jim

Jim, CONGRATS!

I am not 100% sure about Vaillanti egg temps but 73 seems a little low to me... I was thinking more like 75. Hopefully someone with more experience can help out.

Are the parents CB?

Hey Jim, The coxi I just hatched I incubated at 75-76 degrees and they piped in about 57 or 58 days. I am sure they would probably hatch fine at 73 degrees with just a little more incubation time.
I say that but I have not hatched any vailanti eggs so I am not sure if they would need to be incubated cooler or not. I just checked Schulz's book and couldn't find any reference on hatching temps for them. I would definatly go cooler before warmer which obvioulsy you know. Congrats and good luck. Randy W.
