Anyone have experience with different breeders pieds?
I've had very good success with my Pieds from Ralph Davis. They eat great, breed very well and produce lots of healthy babies.

I have heard this in the past. My het pieds (all from the same big name) are extremely poor feeders. Makes me wish that I had gone with Ralph.

Mine are crap feeders too. I bought mine from a guy that seemed to sell nothing but pieds and hets a few years back but I have not seen his ads in a year or two. They would take about 1 rat or mouse a month if I was lucky. But they are eating fine on african soft furs. You might want to give them a try. Mine should all breed this season and one even bred last season. All of mine are 05's and are around 1500g now. I probably could have them a little bigger but I have been running low on ASF's in the summer.

1200 grams. They never ate well even from the beginning. One small rat a month if I was lucky. That being said, while they would fast, EVERYONE else pounded food.

I purchased my het pied pair from Markus Jayne. Not sure which line of pieds he has though...
My pair are both 05's the male is 1000 grams and the female is 1900 grams. I am hoping for a nice big clutch from her this year

Try the african rats. Mine were just like yours until I started using them.

Will they go for F/T ASF rats? I'm switching mine over as soon as I can. Breeding rodents is killing me.
Where can I get some in East Central FL?

Never tried F/T so I can't help you on that one.

I have and RDR het pied and a het male from Evan Stahl as well as a het pied female and a poss het pied female both from Evan. Not sure where Evan got these from. All three 100%hets eat great. The het female bred at approx 18 months of age and around 1700 grams. She produced huge eggs and babies the biggest I believe was 92 grams. The pied that hatched in May or June of 07 is now 650 grams and was fed like the rest of the the snakes. Once every 5 - 7 days. The poss het from Evan ate real good at first before she was bred. She did not lay last season but I feel sure she will go and prove to be a het. Time will tell.Good luck everyone.

BHB line has worked well for me. I have not experienced any eating problems with this line and the babies seem to grow big and mature early. I have a couple of adult hets from other lines that are pretty finiky and only eat when and what they want to. Offspring from crossing BHB onto these females seem to eat fine.

I had great luck with het Pieds from Steve. I had a pair of 05's that were up to size and bred for me last January.

I have a trio of het females from Sean and Celia at Exotics by Nature. Two are fantastic eaters and the other one is a decent feeder. I am very happy with them. I will be breeding them to my male piebald from Peter Kahl next season.

While I have never purchased het pieds from Brian, I have purchased two normal balls two years apart. Both snakes eat every time I offer food (even in shed)and I would bet money that all of his ball pythons would do the same. Even though the balls that I purchased from Brian were only $25 each, he treated my seven year old son and I as if we were purchasing a $10,000 animal. That kind of service is (as the commercial says) priceless. Right now I'm a boa guy (ironic my son is a ball kid) and that is where I put the big bucks, but eventually I will own a few high end balls. I know where my ball bucks will go!

I bought a pair of hets from Greg last year in November. The female weighted in at 359 grams when I brought her home on 11/5/06. Today she is 1602 grams empty. 1200 grams weight gain in a year is pretty good. The male was 341 grams and today he is 830 grams. He took the month of January off from eating, but has eaten pretty regularly since then.

I started out with hets from Steve Roussis, Corey Woods, John Romeo (Harbor Reptiles), Morph King, Jack Briggs (Designersnakes.com), and John Manser. All females produced at ages expected from 22 to 34 months, and males were breeding at 18 months. From them, all of my 2005 pied and 66%PossHet holdbacks are on track to produce for me this coming season. Maybe I got lucky... If only I could get those darned female pastels to lay eggs for me!

A buddy and I traded some animals for a pair of het pieds at the Tampa show. They fed on rat pinks Sunday evening after the show. Now they feed on LARGE rat pups/SMALL rats!
Thanks for the excellent animals!

My pied female ('05) from Eric Sandoval has always been a great eater and is well over 1500 g. now. She also happens to be a near fully striped beauty - the striping was as attractive to me as the pied trait in her!
Just some don't eat very well.........lmao..........
