We started with the Rubbermaid 44-quart but noticed that they never used the extra heighth so we moved to a Sterilite 32-quart (all around one of the best container on the market in my opinion). That provides the same floor space (23" long x 17" wide), but it's only 6" high versus 9". They'll hold some pretty big females. However, come breeding season, it's almost impossible to fit a large 2200g female AND an 800g male into that same cage. For breeding and just incredibly large females, we've moved to the Sterilite 48-quart box. It's the same 17" width and 6" heigth, but it's 35" long. BIG box, very similar to the Iris boxes that are used in the Freedom Breeder units but about 2 inches longer and about an inch taller.
Hope this helps,
