yay....snake under fridge..what to do

jYd May 22, 2003 11:57 AM

My boa decided it was a brilliant idea to hide under the fridge...of course no just under it, but weaved within it...now, this is not a 'small' boa (or easily replacable)...i'm not quite sure how she's been managing to do it...but i would like to not have my snake die before i get her out...and i would not like my fridge to die before i get her out...I tried food...i tried alcohol...i have given her a few days...is there something more potent that she may not enjoy the smell of to lure her out?

Thanks for any help,
Matt

The only thing that's worked for me is to turn the lights out and wait very quietly. Leave some water out for him in the meantime, the fridge is very dehydrating.
Hey, at least you know where he is!

Never tried this but it's a combination of your other replies. It's nice and warm under the fridge but it's dehydrating sooooo - unplug the fridge so it cools off underneath, put out a nice big bowl of water, turn off the lights, and get comfortable hoping he comes out soon. Good luck!!

Put a food Item in a cage several feet from the fridg.
Check on it ocassionally. Buddy.

Empty out your fridge, and get some big strong guys to tip it over for you and take out your snake. This would be the smartest thing to do, before the snake takes off and hides somewhere else when you're not looking.

Or, turn the fridge off, and make a little warm hiding spot for him with water and food right outside of it. You could try putting a dead mouse in a tupperware containter with a hole so the snake can get in. Put this under something that the snake can hide in, like an upside down box with a hole cut in it. The snake might wanna come out, crawl in the box, eat the mouse, and curl up for a drink and a warm nap. I dunno how'd you heat it though. Maybe put a hot water bottle in a sock?
