Some IJ questions

herpin1579 Aug 22, 2003 08:44 PM

I want to get a pair of IJ's at the NARBC in Chicago this October but had some questions first.

I have a cage that has the following dimensions; 45"L x 45"H x 17"D. Would this be ok for a pair? This cage has a; well secure pegboard back, sufficent basking area, plenty of branches, large water bowl, and a plexiglass front. Basically everything you need. I was just curious about the cage size.

Also, is there any one here that will have IJ's at the NARBC in Chicago?

IMO that is perfect for ONE adult IJ but not a pair.

That cage is plenty big and actually is more than what is needed. I never keep two snakes in the same enclosure though, you may want to consider two smaller cages, or at least making another one. I got my female Irian Jaya from Tinley Park show and she turned out pretty good, but I think I got really lucky too. The best guy IMO to get Irian Jayas from is Yasser @ spitfire reptiles. I got a male from him this year that already makes my female look much inferior. Hope I could help.

These are styrene cages I made for my Irian Jayas. 36 inches long, 20 inches deep, and 14 high.
