My supposedly male sulcata has over the past 12 hours has dug a three ft. deep by four foot wide hole in his outside enclosure. "He" has never duggen a hole this large or so rapidly, and I'm wondering if he is a she. The animal in question is approx 15 yrs old and about 36 in. in shell length. "He" is housed w/ another supposed male that is around the same age and about 40 in. in length. There is alot of lovin' going on all summer, but most of the time its just an audio confirmation, so I cannot say if one is not mounting. The animal in question also has a rub mark on its carapace where it would occur if it were being mounted, while the other does not.
Any help would be great; I know I sound like an idiot, but I've had these guys a long time and this is a first for me.
Thanks, Kael
