new painting

aera Oct 20, 2007 10:28 AM

I know this is not a ball python, but I have been sharing my artwork with you all throughout the year. It's called "Peeling Morphs". The photo washes out a lot of color, so it's a little brighter in person. Let me know what you think, as always, feedback is appreciated.
Thanks again

This is my favorite one yet, very nice. The frame goes perfectly with the feel of the painting as well.

Very nice. Thanks for sharing.

Looks cool! Is it watercolor? I'm currently working on my first watercolor painting. Difficult stuff to work with.

It's actually acrylic on wood panel. I like to use all types of paint, but acrylic is my fav. It dries fast, has a really bright tone to it and is an easy clean (brushes and stuff) If you want to do realism in watercolors, to me it's about using lots of layers, lots of layers, to bring out the depth and richness of the colors you use. Remember that your resulting color/tone, will depend on all the color you use after that (translucent). I would love to see what you are working on.

I'll post a pic when done. I figure I have about a month to go. I'm taking it slow - a layer at a time. You are right about that. It really makes you think about how you are going to paint.
