I need to brumate a mex. mt. king and my house won't get cold enough anywhere. What is the best method to get temps into the low 50's? Small frig is what I am thinking? Any ideas or techniques that you use?
Thanks,
Rod

Are you going to brumate one snake?? For breeding purposes or to get a little one to feed post brumation?
I live in FL and I rarely if ever get mine to below 60F but for a short time each year.
I have no problems with my pyros breeding and/or feeding.
Someone here probably has a method that will work for you.
Where are you located?

Trying to get a little one to feed. Born in July and hasn't eaten yet. Located in Nashville, TN.
You've tried skinks?
I do know of guys who use those "wine coolers" you can get for around a hundred bucks....
Good luck!

I am also thinking of using one of those "wine coolers",,,Target has some on sale,,,some small and large. I can use it to brumate,,then wturn it into a icubatoer with heat and moisture,,,then after they hatch,,,chill my wine,,,or preferably bourbon !!!!

try putting it in your garage for a few weeks. I had a couple from last season that went 3 months with no feeding interest. I brumated them for 4 weeks and they came out trying to eat everything in sight. We're supposed to be getting a cool down this week so you should be ok.
Good luck.

Thanks for the tip. Cheaper than a fridge as well. Nervous about temps though. I guess a closed garage is always a little warmer than temp outside though. I have also thought about putting some rocks in the cage as they will hold temps better than just air and aspen bedding. Your thoughts?
