Back From TX!

And Mexico.... I stopped by Brazos Bend S.P. but only had about 30 mins there. Unfortunately I didn't run into any snakes. I was hoping to find a texas ratsnake and also a Crotalus would have made my week! But here is what I did find....
When we got to the park I asked where the best place to spot these guys was. They said I probably wouldn't see anything since it was about 3 in the afternoon. Being a mostly cloudly day I had my hopes up though. The only spot I had time to stop by was 40 acre lake. And after about 45 seconds of looking I found this little guy suning himself on a tree. He was younger only about 3 feet or so.

We then decided to move over to the dock. On the way we spotted this guy watching us from some tall grasses. He was about 5'-6' and started moving along once I got too close.

And the last guy here I almost missed entirely. I didn't see him until I was already on the dock and about 2' above his head. Thank goodness for guard rails! I estimated him to be at least 8' maybe up to 10'.

Thanks Dusty for recommending Brazos Bend!

I got a chance to do a little underwater exploring while in Mexico and got a few bad pictures of some of the reef life.

And this is perhaps the most awkward discovery of the whole trip.

All in all I had a wonderfull time. But boy am I glad to be home!

If lead paint is so deadly why do they make it so delicious?
