Very nice looking snake. In the pictures, it looks kind of shiny. Is it because of the flash? Does it have any iridescence in the scales like the normal ones?

I'm also wondering, what do babies sell for? Not in the market, just wondering......

Thanks,
Rob

Nice looking snake

Curious though, what type of rainbow boa is it? Columbian? It doesn't look like a Brazilian as it would have red pigment still, unless its xanthic (axanthic?) as well.

a colombian albino rainbow. The brazilian would be yellow like that also then over time orange then just maybe one day red but on a brazilian you would see the tops of the cresents as they contain yellows, oranges and maybe a little red on normals

those are beautiful snakes. I remember seeing them in Daytona 2 or 3 years ago. I really cant wait till we have brazilians. But I would think that if you had true albino BRBs they would be red since all albino technically does is take out the b lack pigment. But I guess we will have to wait and see. But bravo on the beautiful albino crbs.

The brazilian rainbow appears to be have shades of orangey flavor but these are strictly from looking at a pic in a book though. Once crossed with high reds and snakes like Eve that have an overall red coloration to the body then perhaps the albinos may contain some reds but since selective breeding has not really begun on the project and there is little red in it, then perhaps the little bit of red is being blocked leaving the orange (just a wild guess) but Ian G. of Outback Reptiles is the only one working with them right now

Any pics of this albino BRB that you know of? I'd love to see it just to see how much and which parts of the BRB have orange.
It would be neat to compare it to an anery.

Is that a pic of one at:

http://www.designermorphs.com/

?

that is it. You notice on the sides where the crescents would be, the tops of the crescents that would be normally really light in color to shades of yellow and orange are yellow and the bottom of the crescent which would be normally black is now off white maybe yellow when it is older I don't know cuz I have never seen one and I suck at colors
Bob

natsamjosh Oct 22, 2007 08:27 PM

Wow, I'm really shocked how little orange there is! (That guy needs some carrots for sure! ) Very interesting, I guess I need to rethink the whole anery thing before making any more stupid comments.
