what type of beardie I have? I bought it at a pet store and chose it because it was the biggest of the babies and, had no toe or tail nips and seemed to be a normal rather then a color morph. However I'm not so sure. I cant take and upload a picture of my dragon however I found a picture of some Pogona barbata (coastals) with the lighter of the three from the picture I am uploading that resembles my beardie in coloration except for the head pattern which seems more like vitticeps. The inside of the mouth and tongues of Coastals are supposed to be yellow. His/her mouth isn't but the tongue definitely is. Does any body think I may be dealing with a barbata X vitticeps?

Inland Bearded Dragons can be many colors including very dark. I posted a pic. of a dark rescue I took in 9/1. He's been living with a reptile vet since 9/17 since he has many problems.

Here's a BD Identification key but I doubt that yours is anything but an Inland BD (Vitticeps) Sorry.

Also some of my BD's have yellow mouths. There is really just a lot of variation.

is the picture the dragon you bought or what you found for the other species of dragon? If that is a picture of the dragon you bought and its recent, those are hatchlings. Straight from the eggs, and they may be dark because they just hatched. I don't recommend a first time dragon owner to buy a 3 day old hatchling. They are much more fragile and need more attention than older babies.

Not impossible but you need to feed 3-4 times a day with very small crickets (1/5th" long crickets usually are small enough) and mist them to ensure they are well hydrated. dust crickets with calcium and multi vitamin, as well as a good UVB light (calcium with D3 is best )

Other than that, it looks like a normal bearded dragon (inland)
