new hatchling what do you think

spider916 Oct 21, 2007 06:52 PM

this little guy just emerged what do you think.the first pic is of 2 pastels that i hatched a little while ago. the last 2 pics are of the new hatchling. all pics are of the babies right out of the egg with the same camera just a different background. they all share the same father but different very normal looking moms. is there something potentially going on with the new baby. he is almost pumkin orange/yellow and black. as you can see his head is very pale compaired to the others. any input would be welcomed.

The head looks a little "premie", but very light. The contrast of black and yellow is amazing, wait 'til the first shed to see if it 'dirties up' a bit. Looks almost super/ghostlike on the head, but so dark and defined on the body. A keeper for sure!

He's definitely not a premie. He was incubated at 88.9 to 89.3 and pipped on day 59 and came out of the egg on day 61. He weighs 60 grams. Yes, he's definitely a keeper.

Very unique -- can you take a pic of it next to the other 2 pastel babies all on the same background (white or black) so we can see how bright and different he really is? The bright blue detracts from the animal and makes it hard to judge what he really looks like. Either way, definitely a keeper.

I have no idea why I said bright blue...I think because I was doing something else on a blue page in another window. I meant to say purple...

Here are some more pictures that I took today. I put them on two different backgrounds and used natural light (near a window.) The pastel that I added for comparison has the same father but a different mother. It hatched several weeks ago.
