bad shed

winnipeguy Oct 21, 2007 10:54 PM

I have a gravid female. She had her prelay shed about five days ago. It was a good shed except for the top of her head! Its her first clutch, and she is VERY nasty. Any advice on whether I should try to manually remove the last bit, or should I just leave her alone. I really hate to risk stressing her since she has gotten so mean already. She has always been a nice snake to handle. Is it normal that she is behaving this way?

many females get mean when they are going to lay eggs and such

is the shed stuck on her eyes? or just the very top of her head?

If it was me I would prob just leave it and deal with it when the next shed comes/eggs are layed.

but maybe some others have some thoughts on it as well

I agree with Misty, about just leaving the shed where it is for now. Your snake just wants do get her eggs laid in good order and I dont think the shed is her biggest concern right now.

Good luck!
