Kibbles the baby

PHRatz Oct 22, 2007 10:05 AM

Kibbles the hatchling of 2006 has been here for nearly 18 months now. I've noticed something lately with that little one...
During the warm months I used to take Kibbles outside to get some real sunshine and would watch the baby try to burrow under the grass to hide. I know babies always hide for safety, and indoors there's always been a hide box in the enclosure.
I never saw the baby except for when I took it for soaking and feeding.
In the last 2-3 weeks Kibbles has been coming out & sitting in the open inside the enclosure. I guess this means the baby is growing up now. Awww they grow up so fast don't they?

Hello there, what kind a hatchling is it? I have 2 that I believe are ebt. I didn't set out to make babies. And they are way more work than adults! Just like human hatchlings@/p

Kibbles is a baby ornate. Kibbles wasn't born here she/he was taken from another part of town. There was a teenaged boy who used to be our helper in our summer kid class- he found 2 hatchlings in his backyard in 2006. One was found in June about to be eaten by his dog so we took that one to a place that's sort of a local nature preserve.
In November I think it was?? of last year his parents decided to have some landscaping done in the backyard & this one was accidentally dug up. He didn't think we could take it to the same place the other one went to, not at that late date so after his little brother & sisters got through playing with it for a week he called me..... sheesh.
