What do you all think?

APLAXAR Oct 22, 2007 10:38 AM

This is my hold back from the 2006 breeding season, She is off of a Striped Sunglow father and a Snow mother.

my two questions are,

1) do you think the influence of the sunglow removed most of the red from her and that is why she mostly orange yellow and white?

2) also with the amount of white around the saddles could she be consitered a reverse Okeetee? she has no history of Okeetee blood that i know of so i dont know if it would be proper to call her that, i am guessing not.

thanks
Adam

Adam-

First off, I don't see any reason that the sunglow influence should remove red-quite the opposite, if anything. All a "sunglow" is is an amel hypo animal-both characteristics that reduce melanin.

At this point in time, the "reverse okeetee" thing is more a description of a distinctive color phase than an accurate assessment of an animal's geographic origin. IMO. As long as you make no claims that the animal in question originated from the Okeetee area, I don't see a problem in calling a "visual" reverse okeetee by that moniker....
