It’s that time of year again, when all the babies are out and about, time to grab a few future breeders….just remember to be selective folks! Here are my newest additions. Each set is locality specific and a lot of time was put into pairing them up with like specimens.

Thank you
Herptophile

First the locality spacific light male...

and his new girlfriend ...

And now for the darker pair...from a locality far far away...

the male

the female

Thanks for looking!!

Fantastic rich colors in that close up view. Pituophis don't generally scream color at you but really look nice when you take the time to enjoy them. Thanks for sharing.

Is some instance i would have to argue that, the one in your picture is a screamer, i also have a 'orange' female that is a killer animal, i will try and get pictures of her this evening, she is truely a unique animal, got her from John Hollister, who made the mistake of giveing her to me, cause she was "just a gopher snake i found" yeah....5 months and a couple sheds later she turned BRIGHT orange screaming animal....ask him, i bet hes still crying over her....BTW John, hatched out some outstanding san diego gophers this year, from tripple het pairings, sweet albinos, a hybino, some killer hypos, and a variety of other strangeness....

Thanks

Bulls right? What's the locality on the second darker snake? I'd love to see a pic of that "screamin' orange" Gopher.

I forgot to add that the darker ones are a sexual pair caught 250' apart.

Very cool. My friend Rick and I have a pair of 2 y.o. (age is an approximation based on time and snake size @ time of capture) Lake Los Angeles Great Basin Gophers that should be ready to go next year. They were caught probably about the same distance, same road, same night within minutes of each other.
