I have been wondering: How can a bullsnake be distinguished from a Sonoran Gophersnake?
I'd guess scale counts other than locales the snakes were collected from (that is if Bulls and Sonorans don't have overlapping locales).

The rostral on the Bullsnake is more elongate and prominant. Also, Sonoran Gophers tend to have a lower blotch count than Bulls.
