Restless corn?

snake_gal Oct 23, 2007 09:27 PM

My corn snake is 4 months old, has recently became restless. Every time I look at the tank, she's "out and about." I'm worried that she is stressed out, or too cold. It disrupts my sleep.
Does anybody else have this problem, or now if this is a problem. If you can help anything would be great.
Thanks or any help!

maybe the light cylces make her want to look for a nice place to hibernate.

as long as she is still eating dont worry

Do corn snakes hibernate? If so, how can you tell when they are sleeping, and how do you make sure it won't starve to death?

i know mine become alot more active when they get hungry. make sure she`s fed often enough and enough food when fed. see if that helps at all. if she never came out and wasnt active... then i would worry a bit more. im sure she`ll be fine. nothing to lose sleep over

I'm losing sleep because it keeps on making noise, not cuz i'm overly woried. I fed it last night. I hope she's just curious, perhaps trying to escape.
Thanks for the feedback!

She could be hungry and looking for food. She could be looking for a hiding spot, sometimes if they don't like the hide box you give them, they will search for other places to hide. Cool temps will usually make them inactive; maybe your temps are too high. Check the cage floor temps at various places in the cage, make sure there are places the corn can go to get away from the heat.

What they said....
Also, They are more active at night. Not as active as they are at dawn or dusk but still more active. You should be happy she is active. At least you know she is getting exercise. Also, i notice mine get active when they need to go to the bathroom. Maybe she was just looking for some privacy
