Nueces county, Texas male indigo

Here's a bad boy seen out and about yesterday at around 12:30 p.m.
He was sunning in a dappled shady area around his harems' rookery/hibernaculum. The males come in to fight, breed, and overwinter but leave the area in spring until late fall. All in situ, First a head on shot, second showing the ginormous musculture along the spine, and last, he slides back down into the abyss! An awesome spectacle. He was either too chilly or just curious, as we were face to face for about 4 minutes, him tongue flickin' and me camera cliclin'! I moved down, around and up for the parting shot.

That has to be one of the coolest things I've seen! I think I'd be shaking to bad to even get a picture!

Congrats. That's a cool snake to find out like that. Are the Indigo's one of the tougher snakes to find there?

No, we have a large population here, they are spread out all over the south. Most are on private land or Parks.
