Pastel question

Hissenia Oct 24, 2007 08:16 PM

Is the "Pastel" term in ball pythons always refer to the genetic key to many morphs? ex. pastel x cinnamon = pewter. ive seen large differences in pastel pricing. are all pastels the same?

Im used to Boa lingo and pastel usually means a lighter or abit brighter Boa, not a key to different morphs.

In ball pythons, pastel is a morph. A lot brighter than your normal ball python, some anyways. And they do hold key to producing many other morph combos.

They are different than boas, for sure. Pastel is a co-dominant morph, high yellow and very pretty. Some 'brown out' as they age, some keep a nicer yellow coloration. Lots to say about this morph, I'm sure many will answer!

First of all, that is an awesome pastel, nothing like mine- you don't have any "brown out line" where you can tell they will brown over time.

Secondly, you look at your snakes way too long to find patterns! That 'evil rabbit' thing is so funny- I never would have picked that out!

Too funny!
