those pics don't do her justice. she's so much more colorful in person. i'm hoping for a good digital camera for christmas. i can't wait for her to grow and be a big beautiful snake

Since you've been reading you already know how fun this place is.

First is right, sounds like you've been bit by the rainbow bug.

Looking forward to those good digital camera pics, we all love pics here.

And don't be afraid to ask questions!!!!!!

Thanks for the warm welcome! i really love how active this forum is and plan to have many questions in the future lol. by the way you have an awesome collection. so far i've really been fond of the reds and yellow rainbows. since i got my new girl i've almost completely lost interest in the other kinds of snakes i had been planning to add to my collection, but they're just so awesome! i'm not sure i'll have room for anything else. i might end up with a collection of nothing but rainbows and blue tongue skinks (my other passion). thanks again for the warm welcome and i look forward to getting to know everyone and their snakes better

p.s. i apologize now for my lack of capitolization, i play computer games and it's a habit i've developed

Welcome to the forum!! Looks like you've already started things off right by sharing pictures..... we are picture addicts here!

Your girl is very lovely.... I may have missed it, but does she have a name?

Believe me, she will not be your only BRB. They are such awesome snakes that you just have to have more!

her name is Olivia. had planned to take my time and get to know her a bit before naming her but the morning after i got her i got up and turned her light on and thought to myself "good morning Olivia" and it occurred to me how much i liked it and thought it fit her perfectly she's an absolutely wonderful snake, i had done my homework before i got her and read that they tend to be snippy as babies and was expecting it, and for the first few days i had her she enthusiastically leaped open-mouthed at everything that moved, but has somehow calmed down so fast. she's become just curious about everything and is more interested in crawling and checking things out than trying to taste it lol.i absolutely adore her :D and am looking forward to my next. all i'm asking for for christmas is a digital camera and home depot gift cards so i can build an awesome home for my reptiles (well, homes, i don't think they'd get along so well all together )

Welcome to the forum. You might possibly get better cell phone PICs if you had better lighting. Our indoor electric lights and even the ambient light that gets filtered through glass windows is short spectrum and does not show colors very well. We live with the crappy indoor lighting so much that it just seems natural to us and we adapt to it. You might try outdoor PICs with the cell phone.

i actually took them indoors in the evening (in my kitchen) so i figured they wouldn't be the best. but the camera on my phone is a little on the crappy side.. i have yet to have a good pic come out of it in any lighting lol. i was just so excited that she had finally shed. she was pretty when i got her but was apparently close to shedding and this is the first time i've been able to see her in all her glory. i was so enthusiastic i had to get pics and made my boyfriend take a few minutes away from his video games to admire her as well (he seems to be more fond of her than my other reptiles, not that he doesn't like the others, he just shows more interest in her lol). when i get a chance i'll also be sure to post a few of my BTS. with any luck i'l be getting a better camera (or at least a scanner, i have a pretty decent old fassioned camera that takes film and all ) so i'll be able to share pics on par with the rest of you guys :D

Just one right now. Think about how many you are willing to get..... Remember that number in about 3 or 4 years. Let us know how many over that number you are. lol

Welcome to the forum. It's really cool over here. Quite a few people here that like to talk, hang out a little, BS a lot and then there is the talking about the rainbows.

Quite a few very knowledgeable people. Don't think a question is stupid, just ask.

Welcome to the club,
Rob

Welcome to the foruma and thanks for sharing the pics. Despite the quality of the pics, it's easy to see how nice your BRB is!

And like someone else said, don't be afraid to ask questions. No question is stupid, and even if they are, I'm way ahead of everyone in that department!

that right now and his carrot talk

natsamjosh Oct 25, 2007 08:50 PM

Funny thing is, I have red hair. So no wonder I'm always talking carotenoids.

I'll make a deal with you. Once I'm in a better financial position (hopefully in the next few weeks), I'll put up the money for some
snakes which might prove my carrot/pimgentation theories, if you want to house/breed them. Then we split the profits. What do you think?

The ones that really perplex me are the ones like Aubrey's yellow one, the ones with dorsal patterns the same color as the rest of the snake.

problem over here myself Ed. I am waiting on my rack pieces to get cut. I have a brb for me at Mike's, one at Dave's (uless he want to sell #13 also) a possible jungle het lipstick from Steve Ihrig (guy posting all those gorgeous sunglow and albino pics on the boa forum) and I don't have the breeding stock of rodents for them and I need to start breeding rats but I don't have no room to get that started right now, my body is starting to hurt again from the wreck, I'm broke and I did I mention I also need to get a thermostat and Iris cb 110 tubs ($18 tub and 16 tubs later....) and I'm trying to squeeze in a Hypo BRB from Celia unless someone buys a female already meaning they got the best one than I'll just have to wait til next year. Wow talking about rambling and babbling... I'm just sorry you had to read all this. Here is a pic for you that I took the other day just for you Ed but there is nothing I want more to have a project going otherwise I would be very open to it cuz I won't be able to clean the cage of you indigo very muchhahahahaha

... no?? I guess I'll have to find another business partner.
I'll keep you on as a "forum consultant", though!

Seriously, sorry to hear about wreck, I didn't know
about that. Sounds like you've got a full plate for sure!
I was wondering why you weren't cleaning Jack's cage, you know
it's getting really, really smelly.

BTW, I got a pretty nice thermostat for a decent price. It's a Johnson Controls A-419. Well, so far it's done okay, I've only had it for about a month.

Good luck with getting a new hypo, and thanks for the picture.
