New acquisition.....

rainbowsrus Oct 24, 2007 09:49 PM

Saw this girl in the ads and snapped her up quick. Also got her brother who is supposed to look the same.

Check out her sides, I'm quite excited about these two.

They should be here Tuesday and I'll post more pics then.

you're a lucky guy. those are beautiful. i might wanna get one of their babies off you in a few years if they breed more like them. absolutely stunning

rainbowsrus Oct 24, 2007 11:42 PM

Thank you, the more I think about it the more I think it has to be genetic. With two similar animals in one litter.....

Like you said, in a few years I'll be breeding more of these gems!!!!!

Dave, looks like your original post got pulled.

I saw this pair and talked to the guy, but I could not come up with what he was asking for.

I figured you would get them.... you have everything!!! I'm so jealous of you.

I don't know if you saw my response before your post got pulled, but I requested to be on your waiting list for a side spotted baby pleez!

I missed your post, not sure why the thread was pulled...

Kinda happy (OK, way more than just kinda ) you couldn't come up with it, left them available for me!!!

As soon as I saw them I was on the phone.

OK, I'll start a list, with you at the top....again!!!

Yeah, if I had the money I would have grabbed them right away! I wasn't so sure they were hypo, so I though he might've gone down just a bit in price.

Oh well..... I'm glad to be top of the list again!!!! Woohoo!!!!!

Lucky for me....

I still keeop thinking about and can't get away from the fact there were two. One could be a one off freak of nature but two at once....sure does imply a genetic based morph. And if it is genetic, I will have 1.1 visual representatives. A perfect breeding program in the making!!

That means you might actually get some. Duh, if the genetics proves I'll be holding several back!!!!

While those don't look that hypo too me I'm no expert but I LOVE those side markings. I'm just glad someone in our little community here got them so we have access to the future generations of them.

BTW please sign me up on the list also for a side spotted baby as well

PS I also sent you some more info on BCI stunted growth.

Dave,
...That really is an amazing looking snake. As soon as I saw it I knew you were going to buy it. I think I remember that the last time Tom Crutchfield advertised a possible hypo BRB it was a snake he got from Tom Davis. I got this 2005 snake from Tom Davis and though it is not nearly as extreme as your new snakes I do see some similarity. I do wonder where Tom C. got your snakes? I do not think any of these snakes are hypo, or at least not anywhere near as hypo as Mike's line of hypos. What is more interesting to me than the possibility of hypomelanism is the pattern variation.

Jeff, thanks for all that info. I will have to quiz Tom for all the details on the two I'm getting.

I can see where your Tom Davis snake could be a direct relative of the ones I'm getting. but yeah, mine take the side patterns to a whole new level. Are you planning on breeding your 05 this year? And let's see pics of the Walsh clown phase also!!!

Yeah, I don't know about the hypo part as well, but WOW, those side patterns are sooooo killer, and with 1.1 I should be able to make many more!!!!!

Now I like this one better than the other. Very cool patterns on the side/top.

Your wife has to like snakes at least a little. Just wondering, how much does she like them? Is it like, "Dave got ANOTHER snake" or does she share your love for them?

My wife enjoys the snakes we have, but not as much as I do, except the BRB. It's technically hers. She doesn't watch feedings at all. Doesn't really even want to see the F/T, but she knows what is in the black bag in the freezer.

I can't imagine having 200 snakes in the house.

Yeah, WOW, OMG, somebody pinch me!!!

My wife is way cool about my passion. Definitely not her "thing" but she does tollerate them and will help at shows and stuff. She's not really into handling them and she's never been bitten. I hope it stays that way!!!!!!! She does listen (or at least pretends to) to my endless babbling about who to mate with who, what genes are in what snake and what possible outcomes could be.

It's more like I have to keep them all in my snake room.

203 snakes right now, 189 in one room!!

I have a feeling it got pulled because the KS ad was mentioned in the title must be something against the TOS, just a guess.

CONGRATS!! I know how getting snakes can be, I just got 4 this week and my wife says I am smiling like a kid at a candy shop lol...

203 snakes WOW I would love to see that room. you should take pics of that!!

Did the poster have any photos of the parents? What genetics are involved did the seller know? I missed the ad so I have no idea how they are labeled or what was included in the ad but they are something to look at..

Dave,

Great addition. It looks to me like they should have some color that these pics do not show. It looks like the color was washed out a bit in the pics - to me the background color was not the best for this animal.

The sides are amazing, and it will be neat to see what you can do with them. I would think crossing the male to one of your more extreme sided Will Bird females may produce something neat - beside breeding these new siblings together.

Mike, that animal just shed in the last couple of days so that pic was post blue but pre shed. OMG it has to look ten times better in person compared to that bad timing pic!!!

I can hardly wait for Tuesday to have them in hand and be able to see in person how awesome they look!!!
