Lineaticollis: To Cool or Not???

LloydHeilbrunn Oct 24, 2007 11:46 PM

I read a post awhile back here that cooling these guys is not needed for breeding. But I just wanted to see if eveybody believed this to be the case! Also, anybody who did not cool, what temps was the room?? I keep my house mid 70s in the winter which is warmer than many. For those who do cool,is the standard 50-55 okay for these?

Thanks.

Our facility drops into the lower 60's at night with day time temps any where from the upper 60's at the coldest to upper 70's. I fed lighter but fed all winter. I also provided heat tape set to 85 in one small corner of the enclosure for about 2 hours starting up at 0200hrs. I do not know if they used it but wanted to have it available.

I did this, it worked for me others had success and did not do it like this so take your pick. Temps in the native habitat for these guys follow those patterns of cool days and cooler nights. That is what led me to try it. Good luck.
