heat rocks

RSue Oct 25, 2007 10:09 AM

I have heard bad things about heat rocks (can burn Leos), but I just talked witht the University vet hosipital. They said they recommend heat rocks instead of UTH. Are there good ones and bad ones?

I have never heard anyone say anything good about heat rocks, whereas UTHs are recommended in every care sheet I've ever read. I'm not saying that's the be-all, end-all of the argument, but it has been well-documented that heat rocks can easily cause burns because the heat is generally too direct and too hard to effectively modulate to a safe level.
